Beschreibung

• Define team goals and ensure proposed work aligns with objectives • Drive prioritisation to achieve team goals • Design and implement complex technical solutions aligned with company strategy • Influence engineering guidelines and standards across the wider engineering group • Own technical decisions within the team across multiple technologies • Own large technical features from design to completion • Make informed trade-offs between progress and perfection • Provide technical direction to the squad • Proactively tackle technical debt and reduce complexity in services and processes • Develop understanding of UW’s multi-service business model and connect squad work to company strategy • Teach company culture and mentor engineers through pairing and code reviews • Lead complex projects and discovery into unknowns • Build platforms and services supporting the Partner proposition, including lead routing, partner onboarding, appointments, and business management • Own deployments end-to-end within the team’s Kubernetes namespaces • Deliver reliable, observable, and resilient services • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers in autonomous product-focused teams • Continuously improve experiences through experimentation and data-driven decision-making

🎯 Anforderungen

• Experience with Go is preferred but not essential • Proven fluency with Postgres, Kafka, and Kubernetes • Solid experience building distributed systems, including concurrency and event-driven architectures • Strong understanding of system resilience, observability, uptime, SLAs, and progressive degradation • Ability to deliver end-to-end solutions from design through build, deployment, and ongoing support • Experience with CI/CD tooling, Terraform, and modern cloud workflows • Familiarity with Kafka and database migrations, such as CockroachDB to RDS, is a plus • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills • Ability to thrive in an agile, iterative environment while delivering continuous feature improvements • Experience mentoring mid-level engineers and modelling engineering best practices • Comfort working in autonomous, product-focused teams • Hands-on experience with AI development tools • Successful candidates are subject to a background check
