Longdue Games est un studio de développement de jeux innovant, spécialisé dans la création de RPG narratifs qui mettent au défi les joueurs de faire des choix impactants. Leur premier projet, HOPETOWN, plonge les joueurs dans un monde richement conçu où ils incarnent un journaliste explorant des thèmes de chaos, d'ambition et de moralité. Le jeu se déroule dans une ville minière en plein tumulte, et les décisions des joueurs influencent le cours de l'histoire, reflétant un engagement envers une narration profonde et un développement des personnages. Description

• Shape the technology stack further (Unity, Articy), game architecture, and long-term strategy that will drive the creation of our narrative-first, emotionally complex cRPG - Hopetown. • Roll up your sleeves and contribute to the creation of core game systems, tools, and pipelines that will set the stage for our future projects. • Recruit, mentor, and lead a technical team passionate about storytelling and gameplay systems that have real depth and meaning, including some of the original team that worked on Disco Elysium. • Dive into the toughest technical problems, from optimising performance to creating systems that can handle the weight of player-driven choices and consequences. • Work closely with design, art, and production teams to ensure that our technical solutions empower the creative vision and push boundaries in meaningful ways. • Lead code reviews, maintain high coding standards, and ensure the game runs smoothly across platforms without sacrificing the depth we aim for. • Develop tools that enhance workflow efficiency, ensuring that every team member has what they need to bring our game to life. • Be flexible and adaptive as priorities shift, and take ownership of technical risks and challenges as the studio grows.

🎯 Exigences

• Extensive experience in a senior or lead technical role within the gaming industry, ideally with narrative-heavy or RPG titles and a ‘2.5D’ art style of the kind seen in Disco Elysium, Rue Valley, and similar games • Strong familiarity with Unity Render Pipeline (URP) and a passion for 2.5D workflows. • Demonstrated ability to develop and support art pipelines and workflows, optimising performance across assets and ensuring content is brought into the engine smoothly. • Experience shipping at least one commercial game on PC and/or console, preferably in the RPG or narrative-driven genre. • Deep coding knowledge with the ability to actively contribute to development while guiding the team. • Experience working on RPGs or narrative-driven games with complex character systems or player agency is highly desirable. • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and mentor a team of technical developers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. • Strong technical problem-solving skills, especially in areas like optimisation and multi-platform scalability. • Expertise in modern game engines (e.g., Unity, Articy), programming languages, and development tools to bring depth to the technical systems. • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Perforce, Plastic SCM, or SVN, and build systems that streamline development. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with creative teams and ensure that technical choices serve the game’s storytelling depth.
