Description

• Obtain blood specimens by performing venipunctures on Tempus patients • Maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic technique and following department procedures • Prepare, label, and package specimens for laboratory testing • Track collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting collection times • Verify test orders by comparing patient information against requisition forms • Verify patient identity prior to every draw and confirm the correct test requisition • Schedule blood draws and coordinate collection times • Monitor sample shipments between Tempus, client pathology, and partner facilities • Update job status and specimen tracking information in Tempus systems • Manage phlebotomy supply and kit stock at the account

🎯 Exigences

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; BS/BA degree or RN preferred • Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience required; oncology experience preferred • National Phlebotomy Certification required or obtained per the requirements of the state of practice • Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture, aseptic technique, and specimen handling • Experience with Epic or comparable EMR systems preferred • Strong customer-service orientation and the ability to work independently in a client-embedded setting
