📋 Description

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team • Lead engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems and support them throughout delivery • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle • Participate in ideation, articulate technical constraints, and partner on decisions considering risks and trade-offs • Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues • Support operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and contributing to keep-the-lights-on and on-call efforts • Foster quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards • Advocate for engineering standards through writing and tech talks • Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example • Build and operate products at scale for Affirm’s international Direct-to-Consumer markets

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer • Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale • Experience with Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes • Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue • Efficient daily use of AI to deliver high-quality products • Experience defining technical plans for significant features or system components • Ability to write high-quality, understandable, and reusable code • Proficiency making significant changes in large codebases safely • Experience developing tools and practices to support safe large-scale code changes • Demonstrated ownership of professional growth and proactive feedback-seeking • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team
