📋 Description

• Carry out statutory inspections of lifts, cranes, lifting equipment, materials handling equipment and associated plant • Inspect equipment across industrial, commercial and construction customer sites • Provide expert engineering guidance supporting safe and legally compliant operations • Work independently across an allocated area • Build and maintain strong customer relationships • Manage an individual inspection schedule • Work with experienced Engineer Surveyors and Team Leaders • Participate in technical development, induction and training • Conduct hands-on inspections in varied operational environments, including working at height

🎯 Requirements

• Level 3 qualification (or above) in a mechanical engineering related discipline • Practical engineering experience working with lifts, cranes, materials handling equipment, lifting equipment or similar mechanical plant • Experience gained within maintenance, repair, servicing, manufacturing, installation, testing or inspection environments • Full UK driving license • Effective organisational and time-management skills • Good verbal and written communication skills • Competent in the use of tablets, smartphones and digital reporting systems • Passionate about engineering and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and quality • Customer focused with the ability to build strong professional relationships • Able to work independently and effectively manage workload and priorities • Practical problem-solving and sound decision-making ability • Able to communicate technical information clearly verbally and in writing • Organised, self-motivated and adaptable in a field-based environment • Able to visit customer sites and carry out inspections in varied working environments • Committed to continuous professional development • Previous Engineer Surveyor experience desirable • Knowledge of LOLER, PUWER and associated lifting equipment legislation, regulations and industry standards desirable • Experience carrying out statutory inspections, thorough examinations or compliance assessments desirable • Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status or progress toward professional registration desirable • Experience across lifting equipment, cranes, materials handling equipment or industrial plant desirable • Understanding of lifting operations, crane systems, passenger and goods lifts, hoists or construction plant desirable • Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage desirable
