• Develop new revenue, manage accounts, and create demand for ASSA ABLOY brands in the student housing market, primarily electronic access control • Prospect, propose, and close sales with new and existing customers in the assigned geographic territory • Provide reports, sales projections, and other requested documentation • Make sales calls and grow territory sales • Maintain CRM records documenting customer interactions • Manage regional relationships with purchasing company accounts, ownership and management companies, distributors, and others • Evaluate existing and potential customers and focus selling efforts on high-volume-growth opportunities • Create quarterly and annual action plans based on identified opportunities • Support sales and technical training needs of existing customers • Investigate customer complaints and recommend actions to management • Maintain proficiency in the sales and technical aspects of products • Perform other duties inherent to the Sales Department • Travel throughout the assigned multi-state territory
• Strong business and technical aptitude; ability to learn new technology • Ability to work independently and within tight timelines • Self-motivated, takes initiative, ambitious, team-oriented, and positive attitude • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to travel up to 50% of work time • Ability to work in a home office environment or while traveling • Located close to major cities in the territory, within 1 hour of a major airport • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or similar, or work experience commensurate with a minimum high school/GED diploma • Minimum of 5–7 years of sales experience • Experience selling technology within the student housing and multifamily vertical industry preferred • Experience working with clients ranging from C-level to front-line managers • Successful history of managing and growing sales revenues • Demonstrated track record of working under minimal direct supervision • Successful track record of business development in a regional, multi-state territory • Proven track record of building successful client relationships • Background in electronic locks and access controls ideal • Background in student housing, higher education, and/or multifamily markets ideal • Background of meeting and exceeding quota in technical or sales, preferably both, ideal • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office tools • Working knowledge of industry-related software is a plus • Must successfully pass 80% of product certification tests
