📋 Description

• Partner with product managers, scientific and clinical stakeholders, internal stakeholders, and development and support teams to translate requirements into integrations, services, and solutions • Design and scale backend systems for data infrastructure, including PostgreSQL data models, Kafka-driven event pipelines, and a GraphQL API • Lead the design and integration of new services and components for data and event processing • Own pipelines delivering dataset snapshots into the warehouse • Collaborate with platform and application teams to implement APIs supporting new workflows • Implement features with attention to data integrity, design soundness, and maintainability • Draft RFCs for complex feature discovery and technical design • Ensure correctness, completeness, idempotency, and predictable behavior when data moves between systems • Improve operational robustness and usability through documentation, tools, and dashboards

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience • At least 2 years focused on data platforms and backend infrastructure for data-centric applications • Strong proficiency in SQL • Production experience with PostgreSQL as an application database • Experience with data streaming and event processing using Kafka or an equivalent such as RabbitMQ, Pulsar, Amazon Kinesis, or another cloud-based equivalent • Proficiency in Julia or Python • Experience deploying and operating services in containerized environments • Familiarity with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and/or Helm • Experience with GraphQL and TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js) • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Self-directed approach and experience thriving in hybrid or fully remote teams
