• Provide railroad project management services for local and state government agency project sponsors • Review and handle project requests affecting railroad property/right of way • Report and communicate with owning railroad managers and manage cost-effective coordination • Review project work plans with multidisciplinary team members and agency designers • Manage project updates, new processes, and project databases • Monitor project budgets, scopes, and schedule estimates • Coordinate inspection and construction monitoring with field personnel • Perform project reporting and maintain project files • Travel to railroad sites as needed/desired (90% office, 10% travel) • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintain records • Prepare and review project correspondence and reports • Schedule and conduct meetings with internal and external stakeholders • Establish and maintain client relationships • Coordinate sub-consultant work and assist with agreements • Assist in contract negotiations and conflict resolution • Complete project initiation and compliance forms • Verify invoices and prepare contract compliance support • Ensure compliance with quality guidelines and procedures
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills • Aptitude with MS Office, PDF, and other productivity software • Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously • Any engineering degree is required; BS in Civil Engineering is preferred • Leadership skills and ability to take ownership of assigned projects • Strong preference for geographic location in the Midwestern States • Experience leading projects within multiple states and progressing projects from preliminary engineering into construction • Strong knowledge and understanding of railroad and highway infrastructure projects preferred • Knowledge of DOT project management processes, phasing, and regulatory rules • Proficiency collaborating with local and state agency project sponsors
