• Seek new leads to grow the customer base, secure new key accounts and build a pipeline supporting the Division’s Balanced Business Plan • Manage and develop existing customers to maximise account value and increase divisional profitability • Develop and implement commercial and marketing strategies with the Commercial Team to retain and attract customers • Contribute to the annual budgeting process of applicable business units • Provide high-level customer service and resolve contractual and commercial complaint escalations • Partner with Site Managers and the Divisional Senior Leadership Team to develop new services and improve existing services • Support landfill operations nationally across private and public sector clients • Perform other reasonable job-related tasks as required
• Degree level or equivalent in Environmental, Sales, Marketing, Commercial Management or similar • Experience in sales, project management, customer account management, technical management or similar • Experience achieving clearly defined service level agreements and KPIs, including customer service and financial delivery • Knowledge of the UK waste management sector • Ability to travel throughout the UK • Expected to spend occasional nights away from home • Understanding and experience of compliance with industry regulators such as the Environment Agency and HMRC • Membership of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management or similar is desirable • CIWM membership is desirable • COTC is desirable • Hands-on experience within the Commercial function in the waste management sector is desirable • Environmental compliance experience is desirable
