📋 Description

• Develop maritime voyage optimization and route evaluation capabilities • Model vessel performance and fuel consumption across varying operating and environmental conditions • Account for voyage constraints, transit time, fuel efficiency, and operational considerations in route recommendations • Improve optimization algorithms and supporting software • Build simulation and evaluation capabilities to understand optimizer behavior and route quality • Produce clear, explainable results for evaluating optimization recommendations • Collaborate with engineers, product experts, and maritime domain specialists • Contribute across Rust, Python, algorithms, models, services, APIs, testing, and related software components • Contribute to existing and new software for government maritime applications

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience • Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience contributing to production software • Experience with Python and/or a compiled language such as Rust, C++, C, or similar • Comfort working with algorithms, data structures, and computational problems • Ability to translate domain or mathematical concepts into maintainable, testable software • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working across engineering and domain disciplines • Comfort working on software supporting U.S. Government and Department of Defense customers • U.S. citizenship required • Must be able to successfully pass a background check • Ability to obtain a security clearance; specific level TBD
