β’ Act as the lead finance partner to commercial leadership across Sales, Marketing and Customer Success leaders β’ Provide financial insight and challenge to support pricing and hiring decisions β’ Own the commercial revenue bridge and variance analysis, explaining performance drivers to senior stakeholders β’ Support go-to-market planning, new product launches and market expansion business cases β’ Lead the commercial revenue and cost forecast, working closely with Sales and Marketing to build bottom-up models β’ Own pipeline-to-revenue conversion analysis and improve forecast accuracy over time β’ Drive the annual budgeting process for commercial functions and manage reforecasting cycles β’ Build and maintain scenario models for key commercial decisions including pricing changes, headcount investment and channel mix β’ Design and own the commercial KPI framework including ARR, NRR, churn, CAC, LTV, payback period and unit economics β’ Deliver monthly commercial performance packs for the Executive Leadership Team and Board β’ Build automated, self-serve dashboard reporting where possible to reduce manual effort and increase insight quality to ELT β’ Conduct ad hoc deep-dives into commercial performance topics such as cohort analysis, pricing elasticity and segment profitability β’ Support the CFO and FP&A Director on investor reporting, board packs and PE value creation tracking β’ Lead or contribute to strategic projects including M&A screening, commercial due diligence support and integration planning β’ Build and maintain the long-range plan and equity story from a commercial perspective β’ Support ad hoc strategic analysis such as market sizing, competitive benchmarking and investment cases β’ Manage and develop a small team of commercial finance analysts or business partners β’ Set clear priorities and manage the balance between BAU reporting and value-add analysis β’ Build a culture of curiosity, commercial awareness and stakeholder focus within the team
β’ Experience in commercial finance, whether in investment banking, transaction advisory, commercial finance, FP&A, or corporate development, with demonstrable commercial acumen and analytical rigour β’ Strong experience partnering with Sales, Marketing or commercial leadership teams β’ Deep understanding of SaaS or subscription business metrics (ARR, NRR, churn, pipeline conversion, unit economics) β’ Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; comfortable building models from scratch β’ Experience with revenue forecasting, pipeline analysis and variance reporting β’ Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and deliver insight that drives decisions, not just reports β’ Ability to translate complex financial analysis into clear, actionable insight for non-finance stakeholders β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to present to senior stakeholders and the Board clearly and confidently β’ Collaborative working style with a genuine interest in understanding the commercial context behind the numbers β’ Proactive and can-do attitude β work proactively, take initiative and stay ahead of commercial trends and bring ideas to the table β’ Comfortable operating independently and managing your own priorities across multiple concurrent workstreams β’ Structured and process-oriented - you build repeatable frameworks, not one-off analyses β’ Driven by outcomes, not just activity - you care about whether your analysis changes decisions
