📋 Description

• Partner with software engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-performing features for 100M+ customers • Provide technical leadership for mobile architecture and design patterns • Mentor engineers through feedback, code reviews, and platform-specific best practices • Identify and clear technical obstacles • Grow and provide subject matter expertise in performance, accessibility, and architecture • Contribute to mobile architecture decisions, API design reviews, and reusable component development • Lead the design and development of client Backend-for-Frontends and Server-Driven UI architectures • Lead engineering practices and define best practices for feature flags and staged rollouts • Champion adoption of agentic AI tools and mentor engineers in AI-native development practices • Apply advanced mobile ecosystem expertise to make high-leverage technical contributions • Establish high standards for coding, testing, performance, accessibility, and user experience

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field • At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply • At least 3 years of experience building native mobile applications for Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift) • Proven experience building native mobile applications for Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift) • Demonstrated experience with modern native UI frameworks such as SwiftUI or Jetpack Compose • Experience designing and building automated mobile testing suites, such as Swift Testing, XCUI, JUnit, or Espresso • Experience with performance tuning and optimization on native mobile platforms • Experience designing scalable mobile architectures and reusable component libraries • Experience implementing and maintaining comprehensive automated testing • Experience with modular architecture and modern state management patterns • Experience designing and developing client Backend-for-Frontends using technologies such as GraphQL and gRPC/Protobuf • Experience with Server-Driven UI architectures • Experience with metrics-driven staged rollout and feature flag strategies • Expertise with agentic AI coding tools and AI-assisted workflow patterns • Familiarity with on-device ML frameworks such as CoreML or TensorFlow Lite • Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization or offer immigration-related support • Must meet applicable employment authorization requirements without employer immigration support
