• Define and evolve the vision for IMP Finance and Purchasing products • Own the product roadmap and balance improvements with new capabilities • Align product direction with broader platform strategy and commercial objectives • Monitor the competitive landscape across finance and purchasing software • Own customer discovery, including identifying problem areas and validating hypotheses • Conduct customer interviews, observation sessions, and contextual research with MAT finance teams, business managers, and budget holders • Synthesise customer interviews, support data, usage analytics, and NPS into problem statements and opportunity assessments • Build and test prototypes and lightweight MVPs with design • Champion evidence-based product decisions • Make prioritisation decisions balancing customer impact, business value, and technical feasibility • Define and monitor product metrics and measurable outcomes • Translate roadmap priorities into delivery cycles with engineering and design • Collaborate with other PMs and POs on cross-product dependencies and shared planning • Partner with engineering and designers throughout delivery • Use AI tooling to improve specifications, synthesis, and product analysis • Monitor post-launch product performance and drive iterative improvements • Work with Support, Implementation, and Sales to consolidate feedback and support adoption • Partner with Customer Success and Marketing on go-to-market activities • Represent the products’ customer perspective in cross-functional discussions
• Track record of product management or product ownership in B2B SaaS, typically 4+ years • Demonstrable experience owning an established product and evolving it in response to customer need and commercial opportunity • Strong customer discovery capability, including conducting interviews and synthesising insights • Experience defining and tracking product metrics, including leading indicators that predict retention and adoption • Strong prioritisation judgement and ability to make and defend difficult trade-off decisions • Excellent communication and stakeholder management, including pushing back with data and offering alternatives • Comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment • Experience with product management tools such as Monday.com, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar • Active user of AI tooling for product management work • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies • Desirable: experience in finance, accounting, purchasing, procurement, or spend-management software • Desirable: working understanding of core finance and accounting processes • Desirable: knowledge of MAT budgeting, curriculum financial planning, or school funding workflows • Desirable: understanding of MAT structures, UK education landscape, or school finance governance • Desirable: experience in EdTech, school MIS, or education finance systems • Desirable: experience where the buyer and daily user are different and financial controls, approvals, and audit trails matter • Desirable: formal product discovery training • Desirable: experience using Claude or Lovable • No educational credential is explicitly required
