• Lead strategic initiatives to drive business growth and develop data partnerships • Identify new business opportunities and expand Carfax’s market presence in Canada • Collaborate across the business to meet data needs • Manage external partnerships, negotiate contracts, optimize ROI, and oversee supplier relationships • Provide leadership and mentorship to the data acquisition and business development team • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, Data Science, or related discipline is required • A strong understanding of business development strategies, market dynamics, and customer needs • 10+ years of demonstrated experience in sales/data acquisition/business development • 5+ years of experience leading a team • Demonstrated experience in data sourcing and negotiating data partnerships • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for acquiring valuable data assets and develop strategies to leverage them for business growth • Demonstrated ability to negotiate data acquisition agreements, licensing terms, and partnerships with external data providers or vendors is essential • Proven ability to think strategically and develop data acquisition strategies aligned with overall business objectives
