📋 Description

• Identify policy opportunities and contribute to strategic policy positions and recommendations • Build knowledge of climate governance and AI policy mechanisms, including the Cloud and AI Development Act and EU Tech Sovereignty Package • Synthesise AI-related policies and research into public-facing briefings • Work with NGO partners to develop policy positions and execute climate and AI advocacy activities • Support effective private-sector engagement across programme stages • Conduct stakeholder mapping, research, and analysis • Develop strategies and tactics to engage businesses and investors • Build trusted relationships with businesses, investors, business NGOs, trade associations, and private-sector actors • Track international climate policy, technology, and economic trends relevant to the private sector and AI in Europe • Engage subject-matter experts, consultants, and researchers • Produce private-sector outreach and policy advocacy materials, including memos, brief reports, commitment letters, and talking points • Scope terms of reference for AI and climate governance research • Represent Climate Catalyst at partner and business-association events and forums • Report to the Head of Business and Investor Engagement • Work as part of the European programme team on emissions-reduction strategies for heavy-emitting industries

🎯 Requirements

• At least five years of experience working on EU policy-making processes • Advocacy experience on emerging technology or AI and climate issues at Brussels and/or member-state levels • Demonstrated experience engaging policymakers and civil society in climate policy advocacy • Experience engaging private-sector organisations valued but not essential • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver organisation-wide strategies • Knowledge of AI and climate issues, industrial decarbonisation policies, and Europe-related topics • Strong initiative and ability to work autonomously and within a team • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to distil complex issues for a lay audience • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with civil society organisations, businesses, and investors • Awareness of diverse partner opinions and voices • Ability to adapt when priorities shift quickly • Commitment to Climate Catalyst’s values of courage, collaboration, diversity, and learning • Right to work in the European country of residence • Cover letter of no more than one page and CV required • Fluency in English; an additional European language highly valued but not required
