📋 Description

• Design and develop software solutions supporting scientific research and drug discovery • Build cloud-native applications, engineering tools, and backend services using Python • Develop scalable microservices and APIs for scientific data processing, analysis, and visualization • Design robust, maintainable, and high-quality software following engineering best practices • Participate in architecture decisions and technical design discussions • Develop and maintain analytical workflows processing large-scale scientific datasets • Build distributed data processing solutions supporting bioinformatics and scientific research • Contribute to data ingestion, transformation, ETL pipelines, and scientific data management • Improve performance and scalability of high-throughput analytical workflows • Integrate AWS services into production workflows • Develop Infrastructure as Code • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines • Develop containerized applications • Support Linux-based production environments • Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize Nextflow pipelines • Collaborate with scientists to translate research requirements into robust software solutions • Improve workflow reliability, reproducibility, and operational efficiency • Lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers • Drive engineering best practices across development and DevOps • Collaborate with distributed international teams across engineering and research • Balance technical excellence with business priorities and delivery timelines

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with Python (preferred) • Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering principles • Experience developing backend services and microservice architectures • Experience designing RESTful APIs • Hands-on experience with Nextflow is a big plus • Experience building, maintaining, debugging, and optimizing production workflows • AWS experience, including EC2, S3, ECS, Batch, RDS, IAM, and KMS • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible • CI/CD using Jenkins or equivalent • Strong Linux command-line skills • Bash scripting • Troubleshooting production Linux environments • Experience building ETL pipelines • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL • Desired skills include bioinformatics, genomics, multi-omics, healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience, HPC, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, scientific computing, FAIR Data principles, Elasticsearch, Robot Framework, Selenium, C/C++ libraries on Linux, and frontend JavaScript frameworks
