📋 Description

• Design and develop software solutions supporting scientific research and drug discovery • Build cloud-native applications, engineering tools, and backend services using Python • Develop scalable microservices and APIs for scientific data processing, analysis, and visualization • Participate in architecture decisions and technical design discussions • Develop and maintain analytical workflows processing large-scale scientific datasets • Build distributed data processing solutions supporting bioinformatics and scientific research • Contribute to data ingestion, transformation, ETL pipelines, and scientific data management • Help improve performance and scalability of high-throughput analytical workflows • Integrate AWS services such as EC2, S3, ECS, Batch, RDS, KMS into production workflows • Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or equivalent tooling • Develop containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes • Support Linux-based production environments • Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize Nextflow pipelines supporting scientific computing workloads • Collaborate with scientists to translate research requirements into robust software solutions • Improve workflow reliability, reproducibility, and operational efficiency • Lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers • Drive engineering best practices across development and DevOps • Collaborate with distributed international teams across engineering and research • Balance technical excellence with business priorities and delivery timelines

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with Python (preferred) • Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering principles • Experience developing backend services and microservice architectures • Experience designing RESTful APIs (GraphQL is a plus) • Hands-on experience with Nextflow is a big plus • Experience building, maintaining, debugging, and optimizing production workflows • AWS experience including services such as EC2, S3, ECS, Batch, RDS, IAM, KMS • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible • CI/CD using Jenkins or equivalent • Strong Linux command-line skills • Bash scripting • Experience building ETL pipelines • Relational databases: PostgreSQL (preferred), Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL • Experience with Bioinformatics, Genomics, or Multi-omics • Healthcare or Pharmaceutical industry experience • HPC (High Performance Computing) • Docker, Kubernetes, Helm • Scientific Computing • FAIR Data principles • Elasticsearch • Robot Framework • Selenium • C/C++ libraries on Linux • Frontend JavaScript frameworks
