📋 Description

• Lead projects involving Anticipated Operational Occurrences, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Reactor Heat Balance, and Thermal Hydraulic Fuel Channel Analyses • Serve as subject-matter expert for BWRX-300 LOCA and containment behavior • Develop, maintain, and apply deterministic safety analysis methods and results • Perform plant thermal-hydraulic evaluations for LOCA, HELB, containment response, PCCS and ICS performance, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses • Develop, document, and apply TRACG-based LOCA mass-and-energy release and fuel acceptance models • Develop GOTHIC-based containment response models for conservative and best-estimate applications • Deliver analyses and products according to customer requirements, business procedures, and regulatory guidelines • Create or improve automation and analysis methods • Prepare technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, regulatory submittals, RAI responses, and technical justifications • Perform technical verification of engineering deliverables • Present complex technical issues and recommend solutions to internal and external customers, regulators, utilities, and partners • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design, and civil/structural design teams • Ensure LOCA and containment requirements are reflected in evolving plant designs • Perform work according to regulatory, customer, and quality assurance standards

🎯 Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Physics or similar) and 8+ years of relevant nuclear experience, including at least 5+ years of demonstrated experience in thermal-hydraulic safety analysis; OR M.S. Degree and 6+ years of relevant nuclear experience, including at least 3+ years in thermal-hydraulic safety analysis; OR Ph.D. and 4+ years of relevant nuclear experience, including at least 1+ year in thermal-hydraulic safety analysis • Direct experience with LOCA and/or containment analysis strongly preferred • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable • Experience with BWR core simulation and thermal-hydraulic systems codes • Experience with BWR LOCA, containment, ICS/PCCS performance, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses • Extensive knowledge of BWR systems and integrated plant response • Knowledge of nuclear physics, thermal hydraulics, and mechanical design as applied to BWR • Expertise in two-phase thermal-hydraulic analysis techniques • Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements and deterministic safety analysis methodologies • Experience with TRACG, RELAP, and TRACE • Experience with GOTHIC, including multi-volume nodalization and passive heat removal modeling • Experience with Best Estimate methodology development and CSAU applications • Programming experience such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON • Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Engineering, or Senior Reactor Operator Certification preferred
