📋 Description

• Define coverage strategy for a new daily newsletter focused on Europe’s HR sector • Build a beat, develop sources, pitch stories, cultivate stakeholder relationships and pursue scoops • Report and write an average of 5 articles per week of varying length and depth • Edit colleagues’ work and assist with daily newsletter operations • Cover industry events • Occasionally help lead webinars relevant to the beat • Identify, write and edit stories on HR news, trends, and labour and employment law • Interview HR executives and relevant sources • Elevate breaking news and in-depth analysis stories • Assist in planning and executing major projects • Work with U.S.-based editors and reporters • Report to HR Dive’s lead editor

🎯 Requirements

• Proven track record of reporting, writing and editing news stories, preferably on labour and employment law in the UK and EU • Familiarity with digital newsletter and website publishing operations and objectives • Previous experience shaping coverage for an audience of HR executives • Working knowledge of digital publishing key performance indicators • Ability to quickly take ownership of a specific beat through original reporting and building relationships with important and diverse sources • Ability to manage ambitious and innovative reporting projects • Experience with substantive editing, copy editing and fact-checking content • Ability to write headlines that drive content discoverability • Deadline-oriented time management skills and ability to turn around stories on tight deadlines • Comfort with social media and ability to build an audience on major platforms • Bachelor's or master's degree in journalism, or a similar field, or equivalent experience • At least 5 years’ relevant journalism experience • Applicants must not require work visa sponsorship
