📋 Description

• Lead a small and growing engineering team • Own the team's engineering direction, technical delivery, team health, and hiring • Report to the Head of Engineering and work alongside another Engineering Manager • Take ownership of a small engineering team and collaborate with product and other teams to decide what to build and ship it • Own engineering direction, delivery, and health for a team of senior product engineers • Work with product on team commitments and ensure delivery • Review pull requests, provide technical feedback, pair on problems, and ship code when appropriate • Unblock the team when decisions are unclear or problems arise • Give engineers regular feedback, run 1:1s and performance reviews, and support career growth • Identify and fix team impediments, surface problems early, and communicate status across the company • Own hiring and help Junction grow • Make technical and non-technical decisions and own the outcomes

🎯 Requirements

• Experience leading and directly managing experienced software engineers • Technical involvement while managing • Experience owning a team's delivery, not just people management • Ability to provide useful technical feedback and make sound engineering trade-off decisions • Experience working with product and other teams to turn customer problems into shipped software • Experience developing engineers through direct feedback, coaching, and meaningful growth opportunities • Experience hiring engineers and raising a team's technical or operating standards • Nice to have: experience at an early-stage or scaling company where managers manage people and build product • Must be physically based in GMT or EST timezones • Junction does not sponsor visas
