📋 Description

• Own end-to-end delivery across the data platform, including streaming, warehousing, modelling, and pipelines • Lead, coach, and grow data engineers through career development, feedback, and performance management • Review real-time streaming designs and evaluate warehouse architecture and data-modelling trade-offs • Ensure reliable data contracts, documented models, and changes that do not silently break downstream consumers • Take ownership of delivery and people leadership for the ML function as it grows • Partner with Product and engineering leadership on roadmaps, risks, and team prioritisation • Drive data-quality monitoring, incident response, and post-mortems • Embed FinOps practices, cost visibility, and platform cost accountability • Report to a Senior Engineering Manager and partner with Product, engineering, finance, and revenue operations

🎯 Requirements

• Experience managing a team of data engineers, accountable for delivery, growth, and performance • Technical depth in streaming architecture, data modelling, and production-scale systems • Experience building and operating data platforms at scale • Experience with medallion architecture, event streaming, warehousing, and transformation frameworks such as DBT • Experience coaching engineers across a broad seniority range, including Staff-level talent • Exposure to machine learning, including managing or supporting ML engineers and understanding production model lifecycles • Ability to operate with high autonomy and resolve ambiguity • Nice to have: payments, fintech, or finance-domain experience • Nice to have: Kafka, Snowflake, Firebolt, DBT, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and data mesh concepts
