📋 Description

• Own the target architecture of Kestra Cloud on GCP, including dedicated per-customer stacks, templating, versioning, regions, and the Beta-to-GA path • Write design docs, RFCs, and ADRs translating product needs into infrastructure work • Define SLOs and error budgets per service and tier • Lead a team of three, including two SREs, while remaining hands-on • Break specifications into work, dispatch tasks, review work, unblock the team, and set standards for Terraform, Helm, and GitOps • Automate customer-instance provisioning, upgrades, scaling, backups, migrations, and decommissioning • Own Kestra Cloud releases using ArgoCD and GitHub Actions, including progressive rollouts, rollback, and upgrade safety • Build observability with metrics, logs, traces, and alerting • Run on-call and incident response, including rotations, runbooks, blameless postmortems, and follow-ups • Plan capacity and manage autoscaling • Drive GCP FinOps, including per-customer cost visibility, right-sizing, committed use, and appropriate spot usage • Harden the platform with network policies, workload identity, secrets, and audit trails toward SOC 2 expectations • Feed platform improvements back into Kestra core engineering • First six months: audit the current architecture, publish the GA architecture and SLOs, create an executable roadmap, and deliver provisioning, observability, and safe-upgrade milestones

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineering • At least 2 years leading the technical direction of a team or platform • Deep, production-grade Kubernetes expertise, including operating cluster fleets at scale • Strong Google Cloud experience with GKE, IAM, VPC, private clusters, load balancing, and managed data services • Equivalent depth on AWS or Azure is not a substitute for Google Cloud expertise • Expert Terraform skills, including scalable module structures and state layouts • Ability to architect, write specifications, explain trade-offs, dispatch work, and deliver projects • Real on-call and incident experience, including running postmortems and implementing durable fixes • SaaS operations experience with paying customers and meaningful SLOs • Fluent in English • Comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote environment • Pragmatic approach to technical decisions • Nice to have: experience with untrusted or user-defined code workloads, fleet control planes, GCP FinOps, SOC 2 or ISO 27001 audits, workflow orchestration, or JVM production environments
