📋 Description

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures • Work remotely as part of a fast-paced, multi-site environment

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology • 4 years or more of cytogenetics testing experience • Additional Job Standards: Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures • Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment • Ability to work independently and within a team environment • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems • High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs • A dedicated home office space that isn’t shared and meets HIPAA compliance • Agree to have your home address added to reports of cases you analyze or report; this is a CMS requirement • Provide wired or wireless internet at a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec • Ability to work remotely effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands • Preferred: Certified by the National Credentialing Agency (NCA) in Cytogenetics (CLSp-CG) • Preferred: ASCP or AMT certification
