📋 Description

• Understand structural damage and determine liability, repair strategies, and customer outcomes, particularly for subsidence, heave, and landslip • Complete subsidence enquiries, investigations, and audits with reference to claims handling and underwriting philosophies and LBG policies • Manage and oversee LBG subsidence suppliers • Identify claim outliers, supplier and market trends, and topics requiring intervention or escalation • Identify indemnity opportunities, emerging risks, and customer service improvement areas • Work with the indemnity insights team to apply new technology to optimise claims spend • Conduct national site visits to validate damage causes, assess risks, and monitor performance • Help resolve technical and customer challenges • Lead claim forums to track claim type, progress, and duration • Collaborate on timely, cost-effective, customer-focused claim resolutions • Provide ad-hoc technical support for subsidence claims, including underwriting referrals, risk analysis, and complaint resolution • Share technical expertise to support team development and continuous improvement

🎯 Requirements

• Expert knowledge of diagnosing subsidence, heave, landslip, and other structural damage • Strong understanding of investigating, mitigating, and repairing causes of ground movement • Understanding of insurance policies, claims philosophies, and legal principles • Expertise in building pathology, defect investigation, and repair techniques • Knowledge of CDM Regulations, Party Wall Act, asbestos legislation, and contract administration • Full and current UK driving licence • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Ability to explain complex issues clearly and compassionately • Sound analytical skills • Ability to assess datasets or use automation with Excel, AI, and data visualisation tools • Ability to tell a compelling story with data • High level of personal organisation and proactive case intervention and insight • Professional building qualification (e.g. RICS, ICE, CIOB, ABE) advantageous • Insurance qualifications (CII/CILA/FIA/C.Act) advantageous • Academic qualification and/or experience demonstrating knowledge of building pathology, soil mechanics, building repair techniques, subsidence risk, and insurance principles
