Map of Ag also provides consultancy services in animal health & welfare and environmental sustainability, and works with banks, retailers, processors and producer groups to measure, monitor and manage regenerative agriculture, biodiversity, water quality, antimicrobial use and production efficiency.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and implementation of analytical models and processes across key projects • Direct the technical aspects of projects, including selection of tools, implementation methodology and processes • Guide analytics team members through code reviews, technical direction and support • Process and mine large datasets from a range of sources using intelligent criteria and mapping rules • Manipulate data and build and maintain models that add value and generate key performance indicators • Collaborate with Product and Client Services to align analytics outputs with business needs • Document findings and recommendations and communicate them clearly • Lead project delivery and help ensure data solutions are robust, scalable, impactful and industry-leading • Mentor other data scientists

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years' experience in a data science or applied analytics role, with clearly demonstrated progression in responsibilities • Experience solving domain-specific problems, preferably in agriculture or sustainability • Ability to work effectively within an agile team environment • Excellent organisational, documentation and project management skills • Strong Python and MS Excel capabilities • Experience developing technical solutions with AI harnesses such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex • Ability to utilise statistical and data analysis methodologies to extract hidden insights from large, complex datasets • Excellent attention to detail • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with colleagues and stakeholders, including account managers and software developers • STEM degree or equivalent professional experience required • Knowledge of JavaScript, R, SQL, VBA, git, machine learning or optimisation algorithms preferred but not essential • Mechanistic or empirical modelling experience desirable
