📋 Description

• Set design direction for the assigned area, translate it into plans with milestones and measurable outcomes, and present the case to senior leaders in customer and business terms • Partner with product teams to ensure designers start from clear, well-framed briefs and challenge briefs that are not ready • Maintain cohesive customer journeys across teams and resolve conflicting designs before launch • Run critique and design reviews against an accessibility-inclusive definition of done • Ensure shipped work meets quality standards • Decide what requires customer testing before development versus post-launch measurement, with validation and success metrics planned into delivery • Ensure journeys use the design system and incorporate market and product variations without one-off rebuilds • Plan and staff design-system contributions as projects • Build partnerships with product and engineering to influence what is built and maintain alignment during development • Hire, set expectations for, provide feedback to, and develop product designers • Introduce AI tools into the team's design process and model effective, responsible use • Build AI fluency across the team

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in product design, with a portfolio of shipped work across mobile and web showing the problem, decisions, and results • 3+ years of experience managing product designers, including hiring, coaching, and career development • Experience setting design direction for a product area and leading a team to deliver it • Experience running a design quality practice, such as critique, design reviews, and a definition of done, that raised the quality of shipped work • Experience building shared patterns or templates adopted across teams, products, or markets • Experience shipping accessible, inclusive products for people with disabilities, people new to digital products, and people on limited devices and connectivity • Experience using AI tools in design work and building that fluency across a team • Experience designing for POS terminals is a strong plus • Experience in financial services, multiple markets, or operational tools is welcome
