📋 Description

• Design, implement, administer, and support IBM z/OS mainframe networking infrastructure for banking applications, payment systems, customer account processing, regulatory reporting, and financial services • Install, customize, maintain, and apply software maintenance to z/OS Communication Server, Connect:Direct, and associated products • Troubleshoot complex mainframe networking and middleware issues using diagnostic tools such as IPCS and packet traces • Respond to incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate fixes with vendors and partner teams • Monitor performance, conduct capacity planning, and implement tuning measures to meet SLAs • Implement and maintain CA-ACF2 security protocols, AT-TLS configuration, and certificate management • Lead and participate in software upgrades, hardware refreshes, disaster recovery planning, and exercises • Collaborate with developers, operations staff, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other systems programmers • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members • Maintain system configuration, procedure, and troubleshooting documentation • Attend vendor conferences, provide thought leadership, and recommend training opportunities • Participate in a 24/7 emergency on-call rotation • Adhere to risk, regulatory, audit, internal-control, and company policy requirements • Identify risks for escalation, promote belonging, and complete other related duties

🎯 Requirements

• Combined minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or related work experience • Expert-level knowledge of z/OS Communication Server, including VTAM, TCP/IP, FTP, SFTP, TLS/AT-TLS, OSA-Express, TN3270 Services, DNS, Enterprise Extender, and Connect:Direct (NDM) • In-depth knowledge of SMP/E and z/OSMF for software installation and maintenance • Fluency in JCL, REXX, and CLIST • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience • Preferred: strong proficiency with IBM MQ Series on Z, CICS, and DB2 on Z • Preferred: 5–7 years of experience in mainframe systems programming focused on networking and middleware • Relevant certifications are a plus • Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
