📋 Description

• Build scalable applications and end-to-end systems for government partners • Design, implement, and deliver services used by millions of Americans • Modernize a legacy enterprise platform and improve public-facing processes and user experiences • Participate in strategy, planning, post-production testing, and production support • Design, review, and build software with Nava engineers • Collaborate with government partners and contractors to architect, implement, and deploy systems and improvements • Work in an agile manner to ship user-focused features • Create tools and processes to automate development, testing, and production workflows • Write and review technical documentation and perform code reviews • Participate in an on-call rotation and investigate production issues • Support hiring activities, including referrals, interviews, and interview debriefs

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and TypeScript • At least 5 years of full-stack engineering experience contributing to development initiatives • Meaningful experience with web-based systems across front-end and back-end • Experience working on large-scale applications and systems • Knowledge of engineering fundamentals and architecture • Expertise developing well-crafted software • Experience with modern web development frameworks • Experience designing and implementing highly scalable, available, and performant application architectures and code • Experience with automated testing • Knowledge of code quality tools such as linters • Experience with system design, including sustainable high-usage systems and front-end/back-end integration • Ability to work in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision • Ability to think holistically about engineering issues • Ability to collaborate effectively on a team • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Legal authorization to work in the United States • Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship now or in the future • Ability to meet other requirements for applicable government contracts • May be subject to a government background check or security clearance
