📋 Description

• Design and architect high-quality software systems that are maintainable and scalable • Build elegant, high-impact features using Python and Django • Own the reliability of the stack with sophisticated automated testing • Lead high-level code reviews and resolve complex technical bottlenecks • Partner across teams to turn ambitious product visions into reality • Mentor rising talent and set the standard for engineering excellence • Use AI-assisted development to accelerate the software development lifecycle • Build features and infrastructure for Octane's decisioning (automated underwriting) team • Help maintain a streamlined workflow enabling dealerships to provide fast, flexible financing to customers

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field preferred • Deep proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, Node.js) • Proven track record of designing, building, and delivering scalable technical solutions end-to-end • Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure automation (Terraform, CDK, or similar) • Advanced SQL skills and extensive hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) • Direct experience building and deploying application containers using Docker and Kubernetes • Active participation in code reviews, Pull Request workflows, and version control best practices (GitHub, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps) • Demonstrated success mentoring junior developers, driving technical alignment, and fostering engineering growth • Solutions-oriented mindset with strong initiative, accountability, and communication skills within collaborative team environments • Ability to partner effectively across cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and deliver high-quality features
