📋 Description

• Serve as an expert in physician appointment scheduling, OR/admission, full service scheduling, pre-registration and registration, insurance verification, and patient liability determination and communication • Provide clinical staff and patients with accurate, up-to-date information regarding products, services, and general procedures • Schedule return appointments and other assigned appointments • Gather accurate appointment, demographic, and insurance information to support clinical and financial needs • Update insurance and other patient information as needed • Coordinate physician and consumer requests and satisfy their needs in one transaction • Solve routine and complex customer problems and direct customers to appropriate resources • Communicate regularly with clinical staff, medical secretaries, and product/service line staff • Create a positive first impression and ensure customer and department staff needs are met

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED • PC Knowledge • Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills • Minimum 6 months experience in customer service or a healthcare environment • Preferred: Associates Degree • Preferred: at least 1 year experience in a Patient Revenue role at OSUWMC • Experience with Windows, Excel, and Intranet/internet navigation tools as well as system content • Medical terminology, coding and third party reimbursement experience • Ability to work in multiple systems for assigned tasks, management and reporting • Strong problem-solving and presentation skills • High level of customer service skills • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks in a busy environment • Prior experience with scheduling patients preferred • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task preferred • Experience working in EPIC preferred • Final candidates subject to successful completion of a background check • A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process
