📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain integrations with banks and payment partners across SEPA, Faster Payments, SWIFT, and other payment schemes • Own reliability and correctness of inbound and outbound payment flows, including reconciliation, settlement, and exception handling • Architect systems resilient to partner outages, network failures, and financial-messaging edge cases • Improve system observability, fault tolerance, and operational excellence across payment rails • Collaborate with compliance, finance operations, product, and engineering teams to evolve payment capabilities • Participate in code reviews and post-mortems • Mentor other engineers • Address technical debt and guide technical challenges and migrations • Report to the Engineering Manager for Bank Infrastructure • Drive bank-integration or payment-operations initiatives from design through production

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on experience building payment integrations, bank APIs, payment scheme integrations, or financial messaging formats such as ISO 20022, SWIFT, SEPA, or Faster Payments • Strong understanding of end-to-end payment flows, including initiation, routing, reconciliation, settlement, and exception/failure handling • Experience designing and operating highly available, resilient distributed systems with robust error recovery and observability • Expertise in server-side development, ideally Kotlin or Java • Strong experience with microservices and distributed systems • Proficiency with PostgreSQL, AWS, Kubernetes, and observability tooling such as Grafana • Awareness of payment compliance and regulatory considerations such as AML, sanctions screening, and PSD2 is a plus • Understanding of safeguarding customer funds and money movement pipelines • Experience owning production payment systems through incidents and operational complexity • High proficiency with AI-enhanced development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude • Ability to structure complex engineering problems for AI collaboration, write precise specifications, validate generated outputs, and iterate • Willingness to deepen AI fluency • Ability to mentor and upskill teammates • Submit application in English • Legal right to work in the selected location
