📋 Description

• Define, measure, and improve SLOs/SLAs and error budgets for critical services • Evolve and scale the platform for a growing customer base and rising request volumes • Identify weak points, risky patterns, and capacity limits before they affect customers • Participate in a compensated 24/7 on-call rotation and help lead incident response • Handle mitigation, blameless postmortems, and follow-through after incidents • Own observability across dashboards, alerting, tracing, and logging using Datadog • Drive performance improvements across latency-sensitive paths • Design, build, and ship product features end-to-end across Java/Spring Boot microservices • Cover API design through rollout • Balance feature delivery with continuous improvement • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to turn requirements into reliable, well-tested services

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and operating modern distributed backend services • Java/Spring Boot stack experience • Experience with AWS cloud services, Kafka, and PostgreSQL • Track record with high-availability systems and scaling systems under growing load • Fluency with a modern observability stack • Solid SLO/SLA knowledge • Proactive ownership mindset • Ability to own features end-to-end from design and implementation through testing and delivery • Proven hands-on experience using AI effectively as an engineering tool • Payments, card issuing, or transaction processing domain experience is optional • PCI DSS certification or experience operating in a PCI DSS environment is optional • Fraud detection or prevention experience is optional • Chaos/resilience testing, capacity planning, or load testing experience is optional • Safe deployment practices such as canary, blue/green, or progressive rollouts are optional
