📋 Description

• Work on the core systems powering Pod Rewards, including orders, subscriptions, rewards, payouts and related APIs • Collaborate with an agile squad through pair programming, peer code reviews, testing, story writing and technical specification definition • Develop and support software in line with product and architecture roadmaps • Build scalable, resilient and maintainable solutions • Define and own solutions end-to-end from design through delivery • Write and maintain unit, integration and functional tests • Contribute to CI/CD and testing pipelines • Participate in team ceremonies and wider engineering community events • Share knowledge and learn from others • Mentor junior engineers and new team members • Work with the line manager on professional development opportunities

🎯 Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience • Proficiency in building TypeScript applications deployed on a Node.js runtime • Good experience with unit, integration and functional testing • Hands-on experience within the AWS ecosystem, including ECS, RDS, Lambda and SQS • Familiarity with Terraform and/or other infrastructure-as-code models • Good understanding of object-oriented principles, design patterns, API design, event-driven architecture and distributed systems • Experience working with agile and lean approaches, CI/CD pipelines and test-driven development • Comfortable working in agile teams, open to feedback and continuously looking for ways to improve how you work • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical ideas clearly • A proactive mindset, eagerness to learn and a genuine passion for developing your engineering craft • Must have the legal right to work in the UK • Bonus: Experience working on high-volume transactional systems • Bonus: Exposure to payments, rewards, subscriptions or financial workflows • Bonus: Experience contributing to shared platform or core services • Bonus: Familiarity with observability, monitoring and production support practices
