📋 Description

• Develop and maintain the QAD Redzone API Backend in Scala • Develop and maintain the MCP server to support AI integrations and enhance internal tooling • Improve the use of OpenSearch within the backend application • Complete delivery work committed during sprints to achieve business goals • Leverage the latest Scala and web technologies to maintain a competitive edge • Provide subject matter expertise during incidents to resolve customer issues quickly • Participate in forums, explore interests outside sprint work, and contribute ideas to improve the system • Support the team and wider business in achieving goals • Write testable and maintainable code

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience as a Backend Engineer • 5+ years of Scala experience • Java experience • API-first design using OpenAPI Specification (OAS) • Ability to generate Tapir endpoints and models from OAS • Knowledge of maintaining versioned API contracts • Experience transforming objects with Chimney • Async programming with Cats Effect • Publishing and consuming Avro-formatted Kafka messages • Relational table design with PostgreSQL • Transactional database access with Slick or Doobie • Knowledge of database migration patterns such as expand and contract • Writing observable and testable code using Specs2 and ScalaMock • Comfortable refactoring and building in large legacy code bases • Modularized programming mentality • Trunk Based Development • LaunchDarkly feature flagging • CI/CD • GitHub Actions • AWS Cloud • Kubernetes (EKS) • Docker • Must be currently located in the UK • No visa sponsorship available • No relocation assistance available
