📋 Description

• Define and evolve the data architecture for the Submissions platform • Design and maintain the core manuscript and submission domain data models • Establish domain-driven data boundaries across platform capabilities • Define scalable data access patterns and integration strategies • Design API-based and event-driven data flows • Guide engineering teams in implementing robust, scalable data solutions • Support the evolution of legacy systems into modern, platform-based architectures • Help establish data governance, ownership, and lineage practices • Enable a data-centric platform strategy that supports analytics, AI, and enterprise reuse

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience in data architecture and domain modelling • Experience applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles • Expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling • Experience designing multi-tenant data architectures • Strong SQL and relational database design skills • Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or cloud-native databases • Data Platforms & Integration Experience with data platforms such as Snowflake or data lakes • Designing ETL / ELT pipelines • Experience with event-driven architectures • API design experience (REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI) • Modern Architecture Microservices architecture • Event streaming and messaging platforms • Distributed systems design • Collaboration & Leadership Experience working closely with software engineering teams • Ability to guide technical implementation and reduce architectural complexity • Experience modernizing legacy systems into scalable architectures • Understanding of data governance, lineage, and data ownership practices
