📋 Description

• Design, build, and ship AI-powered features across the product from prototyping through production quality • Work hands-on with LLMs, embeddings, and AI tooling to solve product problems • Own architecture, model selection, integration approach, and quality, cost, and latency tradeoffs • Build across frontend, backend, and infrastructure as needed • Test, monitor, and maintain every shipped feature • Establish practices for AI feature development • Identify technical risks around AI reliability, cost, and edge-case behavior • Partner with the Senior Engineering Manager on technical planning and sequencing • Collaborate with Product on requirements and provide technical guidance • Work with the engineering team on shared architecture and standards • Ship at least one AI-powered feature to production within the first 3–6 months • Establish reusable technical patterns and build effective working relationships with Engineering and Product

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience • Shipped AI features to production and owned their lifecycle from problem framing through post-launch iteration • Strong fullstack fundamentals across frontend, backend, and infrastructure • Practical experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG, or similar techniques in live systems • Ability to determine when AI is appropriate for a problem • Experience defining success metrics, designing experiments, and running offline and online evaluations • Solid SQL and basic schema design • Ability to build simple data pipelines and perform data analysis and exploration • Docker fluency • CI/CD awareness • Logging and monitoring basics • Experience versioning prompts, models, and datasets • Experience integrating multiple LLM providers • Experience with vector databases • Experience using LangChain or similar tools • Comfort with fine-tuning when appropriate • Track record of proactively framing problems and proposing solutions • Comfortable owning outcomes in a lean team • Compliance or security experience or strong interest is a plus
