• Lead a team in designing, developing, maintaining, testing, and debugging software • Formulate and define system scope and objectives for assigned projects • Oversee development of system specifications through interaction with business users and sponsors • Determine project feasibility and assess impacts of new programs on existing system operations • Project software and hardware requirements • Ensure compliance with Sedgwick software development lifecycle guidelines • Lead software development, modification, and maintenance to meet company needs and user suggestions • Prepare program documentation, administrator documentation, and end-user help documents • Direct analyst/programmers and assign, prioritize, and monitor workloads • Provide guidance and training to the team • Prepare status reports for the department manager • Ensure successful project completion according to project goals and requirements • Maintain cooperative project-team relationships and remain accessible to team members • Keep current with technology changes and direction
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required • Information Systems or Computer Science major preferred • Nine (9) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required • Five (5) years of program development experience • Three (3) years of specialized programming relative to program needs • Working knowledge of claims management applications preferred • Knowledge of claims management systems • Knowledge of application systems analysis and programming • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies • Ability to work in a team environment • Excellent interpersonal skills • Strong organizational skills • Analytical and interpretive skills • Leadership skills • PC literacy, including Microsoft Office products • Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills • High level of self-motivation • Credit security clearance confirmed via a background credit check required • Ability to perform computer keyboarding and meet hearing, vision, talking, judgment, discretion, conceptual-thinking, and deadline requirements
