📋 Description

• Work within a small field testing team to develop skills and competency in specialist in-situ testing and monitoring techniques • Perform cone penetration testing using piezocones and associated devices from various platforms to UKAS standards • Conduct pressuremeter testing using self-boring pressure meters, high-pressure dilatometers, and cone pressure meters • Lead pressuremeter investigations using cone penetration equipment • Use CPT software to produce soil data, site records, and test data in a timely manner • Organise site and testing-equipment mobilisation and demobilisation • Carry out work in line with company and site-specific health and safety rules • Calibrate and perform daily maintenance of testing equipment • Fault-find defects in testing equipment while on site • Develop understanding and perform pressuremeter testing techniques and borehole permeability tests • Collect data from groundwater, gas monitoring, and ground displacement instrumentation • Collect water and gas samples from borehole installations • Act as Technician on large sites, preparing core samples and assisting Logging Engineers • Maintain accurate field records • Deliver and collect consumables, samples, and equipment to and from sites

🎯 Requirements

• Experience and strong understanding of the geotechnical/in-situ testing industry • Good management skills • Ability to be proactive and independent while working effectively in a team • Ability to operate pressure meter investigations, primarily using cone penetration equipment from various testing platforms, to SOCOTEC standards • Experience or ability to use CPT software • Ability to organise mobilisation and demobilisation of sites and testing equipment • Ability to follow company and site-specific Health and Safety rules • Ability to calibrate and maintain testing equipment and proactively fault-find defects on site • Understanding of pressuremeter testing techniques • Ability to perform borehole permeability tests • Ability to collect groundwater and gas monitoring data using standpipes, vibrating wire, pneumatic and hydraulic piezometers, and diver-type pressure transducers/loggers • Ability to collect ground displacement instrumentation data using inclinometers, extensometers, and hydrostatic profile gauges • Ability to collect water and gas samples from on-site borehole installations • Ability to prepare core samples and assist Logging Engineers • Ability to keep accurate field records • Ability to deliver and collect consumables, samples, and equipment to and from sites • Willingness and ability to work across sites throughout the United Kingdom
