📋 Description

• Do you have a passionate interest in applying economic thinking and analysis to transport, strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset? • Enjoy working with teams across different sectors to plan and deliver successful transport strategies and advice that will have a positive impact? • Join a team providing advice to a wide range of clients across a range of transport modes and related wider challenges around economic performance, housing delivery, net-zero and place. • Interested in developing and applying/overseeing economic techniques and analysis. • Experience in developing business case analysis in line with the Department’s Transport Analysis Guidance (TAG) and include an understanding of and wider economic impacts guidance. • Experience of leading the development of business cases and other related advice, and of reporting this to senior clients or officials.

🎯 Requirements

• Client and stakeholder liaison to understand requirements for the projects • Provision of high-quality advice to clients • Leading work streams within projects with supervision, ensuring that best practice techniques are applied consistently • Preparing and presenting reports, proposals and presentations • Manage project budgets exercising effective financial and budgetary control • Taking responsibility to specify economic analysis, interpret and review outputs and convey findings tailored as appropriate to technical and non-technical audiences • Contributing to the production and delivery of proposals related to our market area • Assisting in general business development initiatives • Taking part in training to develop both your technical and consultancy skills • To be successful in the role, you will: • Be comfortable working in creative multi-disciplinary teams and provide positive contributions • Demonstrate a strong track record in the field and transport economics and business case development • Take responsibility for key tasks and workstreams, managing multiple deadlines in parallel • Demonstrate strong analytical skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proven project management/delivery experience in a transport environment
