📋 Description

• Design and develop new systems and enhancements to existing systems • Break down complex problems into essential components and build efficient solutions • Work with product teams to identify reuse opportunities and eliminate wasteful development • Own and evolve technical strategy and architectural direction across three teams • Review, enhance, and refactor infrastructure toward modern architectures • Design and develop high-traffic, large-scale software applications, data-flow processes, and deployment infrastructure • Build monitoring, alerting, automated build and deployment pipelines, and application-performance metrics systems • Promote best practices for test coverage, enterprise standards, target architecture, availability, scalability, latency, and fault tolerance • Establish shared engineering standards, patterns, and guardrails • Identify and resolve systemic technical risks and dependencies across products and teams • Design and build a comprehensive QA platform and solution • Lead solution-design discussions and evaluate tools and technologies for feasibility, cost, and adoption • Influence long-term technology decisions and investment priorities • Ensure solutions support enterprise architecture, scalability, reliability, and security objectives • Act as principal technical advisor for significant technical decisions • Lead teams in developing new systems and initiatives • Guide, mentor, and support team members in applications, technologies, best practices, and processes • Review code for quality, correctness, and efficiency • Own day-to-day work-unit deliveries, participate in Agile stand-ups, escalate blockers, and ensure timely completion of tasks and sprint goals • Communicate updates to stakeholders and coordinate timelines • Help team members develop their skills

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field • Proficiency in one or more of Java, TypeScript, or NodeJS, with willingness to learn the others • 5+ years of experience building high-traffic web applications and deploying to production • Experience with cloud-based platforms, preferably AWS • Experience supporting live applications and debugging production issues • Ability to read logs and application dashboards such as Grafana and AWS CloudWatch • Experience writing SQL queries and working with SQL databases such as MySQL and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm • Experience with GitLab, CI/CD, Jenkins, and Sonar • Experience working in Agile teams and time-boxed delivery settings • Ability to handle production issues and provide on-call support • Ability to see the big picture and understand how team, task, and project fit together • Strong verbal communication and ability to communicate ideas and work status clearly • Documentation skills using Confluence, wikis, or similar tools • Ability to manage time, estimate work, and deliver on time • Ability to work across technology and product teams and manage expectations • Experience working across multiple teams and on cross-team projects • Desire and experience mentoring junior team members
