📋 Description

• Commission, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize new, existing, and retrofitted industrial combustion systems across the United States and occasionally internationally • Investigate system-wide issues and perform root cause analysis on failed equipment • Review, adjust, and support PID loop programming in single- and multi-loop control systems • Use electronic test equipment, including multimeters, pressure/flow transmitters, and combustion analyzers, to interpret system performance • Interface directly with plant operators, engineers, maintenance teams, and management • Recommend improvements to system performance, reliability, efficiency, and safety • Collaborate with U.S.-based sales, engineering, project management, and service teams to resolve technical challenges and support projects • Prepare detailed service reports, timesheets, and technical documentation after field assignments • Comply with Bloom Engineering safety standards, customer site requirements, and local safety regulations • Identify spare-parts needs within Bloom Engineering’s customer base • Gather technical information on customer heating applications for engineering, applications, and sales teams • Collect and relay technical details related to customer warranty claims • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships while representing Bloom Engineering professionally

🎯 Requirements

• Associate degree in engineering technology or applied sciences from an ABET-accredited program • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical, or equivalent technical discipline) • Candidates with less than 4 years of applicable experience must live within reasonable proximity to the Pittsburgh headquarters for onboarding and initial training • Fluency in English • Ability to write reports in English • OSHA 10-Hour and NFPA 70E safety training, or ability to obtain • Valid driver’s license • Valid passport, or ability to obtain • Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time; 90+% of travel will be in the United States • Previous field experience with industrial combustion systems, burners, furnaces, or heat-processing equipment desired • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems • Ability to calibrate, use, and analyze mechanical and electrical instruments • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics • Familiarity with PID control systems and instrumentation • Experience troubleshooting PLC ladder logic • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Spanish proficiency desired • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing field conditions • Strong desire to learn and grow within a technical field service environment
