📋 Description

• Own ambiguous customer problems from deciding whether ML is appropriate through building, shipping, measuring, iterating, and long-term ownership • Learn and model customer operational-domain semantics, including routes, crews, and service histories • Create required features and data models in Snowflake and dbt • Decide how predictions reach customers so they understand, trust, and act on them • Report realized business impact to Product and the business • Define offline and online evaluation for model quality, drift, and reliability • Design A/B tests or causal analyses to demonstrate improved customer outcomes • Handle deployment, testing, versioning, monitoring, and drift detection • Partner with Product Managers and Software Engineers to embed ML in product workflows • Set direction and targets while critically reviewing coding-agent output • Build scaffolding, context, tests, review loops, backtests, evaluation frameworks, and data checks to make generated work safe to trust

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in applied data science, ML engineering, or data engineering that included owning models in production • At least one model built and shipped into a real product • Strong Python skills • Applied ML libraries for tabular problems, including scikit-learn, XGBoost or LightGBM, and statsmodels or Prophet • Solid SQL expertise required • Depth in supervised learning, forecasting, ranking, recommendation, or optimization • Experience modeling messy operational data • Experience with dbt and Snowflake modeling • Experience with feature pipelines, deployment, monitoring, and drift detection • Experience with AWS • Experience quantifying business impact of a shipped model, including adoption, outcomes, or dollars • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to product, engineering, and non-technical business stakeholders • B2B SaaS experience is a strong plus • Experience using coding agents on modeling or engineering work is a bonus • Experience with decision intelligence, forecasting, customer behavior modeling, workforce/route optimization, or operational intelligence products is a bonus • Prior senior or lead scientist/engineer experience guiding technical direction is a bonus • LLM or agentic workflows shipped into a product is a bonus • No visa sponsorship is offered now or in the future for this position
