📋 Description
• Responsible for underwriting and marketing accounts throughout approved states/territories • Develop new business, manage assigned agencies, select advantageous risks and build a profitable portfolio of accounts • Monitor loss ratios for Carriers and Agents and take corrective action when possible to remain profitable • Regularly make marketing presentations to prospective clients • Analyze information in insurance applications, supplemental reports, studies, data and related information to determine if a risk meets acceptable criteria
🎯 Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of commercial underwriting experience or equivalent work experience • Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, processes, and practice • Extensive experience in the insurance industry ideally within an underwriting, broking, relationship management or sales role • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking skills with great attention to details • Property & Casualty Agent’s license in residing state, or willingness to obtain CPCU, AU-M, CIC designations a plus
