📋 Description

• Serve as lead engineer for bridges and other structures, including new construction, inspection, repair, and rehabilitation projects. This includes leading, assigning and reviewing work and providing technical guidance to the team. • Collaborates with colleagues in other offices and different areas of expertise • Review technical packages as part of our internal quality program. • Review technical packages from other consultants as owner’s representative. • Deliver quality plans, calculations, and specifications on schedule. • Complete bridge inspections and load ratings with associated reports • Assists in preparing proposals for various pursuits • Assist with preparation of scope and fee proposals for structures work. • Represents the firm at professional organizations and conferences

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field • 10 or more years’ bridge design experience • 5 or more years’ ODOT experience • Registrations/Certifications required: Ohio PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. • A valid driver’s license. • Experience with AASHTO LRFD • Experience with ODOT design criteria and standards • Familiarity with structural engineering software packages such as: Bentley Open Bridge Designer, MIDAS Civil, AASHTO BrR, Merlin-DASH and MathCAD • Familiarity with CADD software packages such as: Bentley Open Bridge Modeler, Bentley MicroStation, Autodesk Civil 3D and Microsoft Office • Work independently with minimal direction and oversight. • Demonstrate excellent time management skills with the ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously • Direct and mentor junior level staff inside of the project team • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively convey information to technical and non-technical individuals.
