📋 Description

• Fully remote position with the Virtual Hospital Medicine team supporting Atrium Health King’s Mountain in King’s Mountain, North Carolina • Schedule consists of 7 on / 7 off overnight shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays • Responsibilities include virtual admissions, overnight cross-coverage, and ongoing clinical management for adult hospitalized patients utilizing Advocate Health’s virtual care platform and Epic electronic medical record • Perform initial and periodic medical histories, physical examinations, and daily assessments • Perform comprehensive virtual admission history and physical examinations for adult hospitalized patients • Provide overnight virtual admissions, cross-coverage, and ongoing clinical management • Record findings of examinations, assessments, and plans of care • Write appropriate prescriptions and administer medications • Order and interpret daily laboratory and radiology examinations • Determine treatment plans for patients in collaboration with supervising physicians • Document all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and activities in a medically appropriate manner within the patient’s medical record • Collaborate with Hospital Medicine physicians, bedside APPs, nursing staff, consultants, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, case management, and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care • Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and communicate recommendations to bedside care teams • Act as a patient advocate for the population served • Attend, participate in, and contribute to group/practice meetings and policy development as requested • Perform additional duties within the scope of licensure and credentialing

🎯 Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program • Nurse Practitioners must hold a Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice with ACNP or AGACNP board certification • Physician Assistants must hold certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) • Current license to practice as an NP or PA in North Carolina • Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license • BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA) must be valid at least 90 days beyond start date • Hospital Medicine, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, or other acute inpatient experience preferred • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills • Ability to perform thorough history and physical assessments • Ability to function within a multidisciplinary team
