Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• This position is working with Alabama Connections Academy. • Manage instructional programs. • Consult regularly with learning coaches and students to ensure successful completion of instructional program. • Participate in the organization and administration of the State Testing, as directed. • Attend local and state provided professional development trainings related to Title III compliance and instruction. • Complete all grading, create progress reports and conduct parent conferences in a timely manner. • Support the instructional program with asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction. • Become proficient with supplemental programs to support English Language Learners in the virtual setting. • Review curriculum and devise alternate approaches to presenting lessons to increase student understanding. • Communicate with parents, students and other teachers on a regular basis. • Collaborate with school leadership to create and maintain the school’s English Learner Advisory Committee. • Develop a general knowledge of the entire program’s K-12 curriculum.

🎯 Requirements

• Must reside within the state of Alabama • Appropriately certified to teach Science for High School in Alabama • Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft OS and MS Office programs) • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written • Customer focused approach • High degree of flexibility • Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment • Team player track record • Willingness to travel on occasion for school-based meetings, trainings, marketing and state testing events (may require occasional overnight travel) • Ability to work remotely, if necessary • Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support some families • Must be able to use a personal electronic device and email address for 2-step authentication.
