Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Manage and provide instructional guidance and virtual teaching for students with special needs • Develop, write and help implement IEPs and 504 plans • Evaluate tests and assessments, complete report cards and conduct parent conferences • Communicate regularly with parents/learning coaches to ensure that IEP goals are met • Consult with teachers to implement specially designed instruction defined in the IEP • Provide direct services to students via web-conferencing software • Schedule and conduct IEP related meetings in a virtual environment • Participate in the school’s Student Support Team • Assist with organization and implementation of paperwork for the IEP process • Help with locating service providers for students requiring related services

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in Special Education or related Education Field • Valid South Carolina Special Education certification • Additional certification in a core content area preferred • Experience in policy (IDEA) and/or administration with Special Education • Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products) • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written • Customer focused approach • High degree of flexibility • Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment • Team player track record • Willingness to travel on occasion for marketing and state testing events
