📋 Description

• Scale the Accounting Function: Own the month-end close, financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls while building scalable processes that support growth from <$100M to >$1bn in revenue. • Lead Subscription Revenue Accounting: Oversee accounting for a consumer subscription business, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, compliance with ASC 606, and partnership with cross-functional teams on new products and offerings. • Drive Systems, Automation & AI: Lead accounting systems implementations and process transformation initiatives, leveraging automation and AI to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. • Own Audit & Compliance: Lead the company’s external audit process, strengthen controls and documentation, and ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. • Develop & Lead the Team: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing accounting organization, including offshore resources, while establishing clear accountability and operating rhythms. • Partner with Leadership: Collaborate with Finance and executive teams on strategic initiatives, business planning, fundraising, and operational decision-making.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles in high-growth environments. • Experience helping scale a company from less than $100M revenue to greater than $200M revenue. • Significant experience in a consumer subscription business with recurring revenue models. • Proven track record leading accounting systems implementations (ERP, revenue, close, AP automation, or related platforms). • Experience identifying and deploying AI and automation solutions to improve accounting efficiency, productivity, and accuracy. • Experience leading a company’s first external audit and building audit-ready processes and controls. • Demonstrated success managing offshore accounting teams and distributed operations. • Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. • A passion for pets!
