📋 Description

• Lead legal support for the full BESS project lifecycle, from origination, site control, real estate, and permitting, through interconnection, commercial contracting, financing, and handoff to construction, operations, and asset management • Partner with internal stakeholders to structure, draft, and negotiate key project agreements • Support responses to utility and corporate RFPs, and negotiate revenue and commercial agreements • Advise on procurement, trade, and supply chain matters • Support legal due diligence, transaction management, and closing deliverables • Monitor market, regulatory, and industry developments affecting BESS project development

🎯 Requirements

• 10 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm, sophisticated in-house legal department, or government agency • Substantial experience supporting energy project development and commercial transactions • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and active license in good standing (preferably in CA, NY, or TX) • Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating offtake, power purchase, capacity, tolling, and other project revenue agreements • Strong working knowledge of permitting, environmental review, land use, siting, interconnection, real estate, procurement, trade, supply chain, and ISO/RTO market issues
