📋 Description
• Summarize complex legislation and congressional procedures clearly and concisely • Write on multiple topics while meeting strict deadlines • Develop expertise in assigned policy areas and news developments • Build a network of sources on and off Capitol Hill • Work evenings/nights and weekends when needed
🎯 Requirements
• High-level analytical, writing and research skills • Ability to work with legislative text, the U.S. Code, committee reports, and other documents • Prior public policy experience and/or reporting experience on the federal government, politics, or legislation • Strong knowledge of Congress, politics and the legislative process • An ability to conduct objective online research on policy and congressional issues
